Conexión is a product-traceability system for equipment manufacturers, operated by EthicCode. This page describes exactly what it stores and why. Last updated 16 August 2026.
If you scanned a QR code on a machine
Opening a product page stores nothing about you. No account, no cookie that identifies you, no analytics or advertising trackers. These pages are excluded from search engines.
If you choose to message the manufacturer, we keep what you wrote, the phone number you typed, and the name and email address Google confirms when you sign in — so the company knows who wrote to them. We also record which unit it was about, and the IP address of the request, to limit abuse of a public form. Signing in this way does not create a Conexión account and gives you no access to anything.
If you work at a company that uses Conexión
We store your name, email address, a hashed password (never the password itself), which companies you belong to, and your role in each. If you use two-factor authentication we store an encrypted secret and hashed recovery codes. Sign-in events are recorded with a timestamp and IP address so account access can be audited.
Signing in with Google shares only your name, email address and Google account id with us. We never receive your Google password, and we request no access to your contacts, files or anything else.
The Android app
The app uses the camera only to read QR labels. Frames are processed on the device and never uploaded or stored — nothing from the camera leaves the phone.
Units you record are held on the phone until they reach our server, so the app works with no signal. Your session token is kept in the Android keystore. Signing out removes it; anything not yet synced stays on the phone until it is.
Notifications are used to tell you a customer has written in, and to show sync progress. The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics.
Product records
Manufacturers record serial numbers, models, manufacturing dates, which customer bought a unit, and its repair history. That information belongs to the manufacturer. We process it on their behalf and do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to train anything.
Where it is kept, and for how long
Data is stored on servers in the United States (Neon, Netlify) and, for uploaded invoices, Amazon S3. Product records are kept for as long as the manufacturer keeps the account, because the machines themselves stay in service for decades and a service history is only useful if it is complete.
Removing your data
To have a message you sent removed, or to ask what we hold about you, email privacy@conexion.in from the address you used. Staff accounts are removed by the company that created them.
Children
Conexión is a tool for industrial manufacturers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
